An important factor to win an interview is your attire. The way you dress expresses your attitude and will definitely fetch you your dream job.

You would have read a famous saying,” a man is known by his dress” not only men, women should also concentrate on your attire to attend the interview effectively and succeed.

First and foremost is the Fit of the dress, both men and women should make sure that the dress has a proper fit on you. Avoid wearing dresses which are too tight or too loose on you.

Men should remember not to wear your party shirt & t-shirt, instead wear a mild & light coloured and pressed formal shirt with matching pant which looks good on you. Avoid wearing jogger or casual pants with narrow bottoms. A neatly dressed person is always confident and this will help you to attend the interview in an effective manner.

Remember your shirts must be tucked-in to look professional. Watch your belt colour & design and it should match with your shoes. If your shirt happens to be a full sleeve shirt, remember not to roll-up your sleeves, as this will show you casual rather than formal.  If you happened to wear a tie for the interview, make sure the tip of the tie touches the upper edge of your belt’s buckle. Always wear formal shoes, neatly polished and well maintained. If the shoe has lace, remember to check your shoes often for loosened laces. And use appropriate socks and always remember not to wear an unwashed socks whose smell would fill the interview room easily.

Don’t wear unpleasant accessories like short chains, big earrings, noisy bangles or any other jewellery to the interview.  Maintain a good hair style and clean shaved face, as this will give you a pleasant look.

If you have to travel long distance to reach the interview location, reach the interview location earlier and groom yourself to look fresh and pleasant.

Always carry face tissue or good quality handkerchief to wipe-off your sweat and you can also use them to cover-up your sudden sneeze and cough. If you sweat more, use mild perfume which doesn’t suffocate the interviewer.

Remember, ”Your dress need not be pricier to make you look smarter…..”

All the best for your interview…..
